Outlines

At first, I though the note taking process for the sources given to us were a pain in the neck. But once I started taking notes on what they thought the role of the government was and how the sources would relate to the paper, I found it very helpful. I was able to cite whether they wanted limited government, large government intervention or no government intervention at all. The note cards made making my outline that much easier. One thing I was I had known about the outline from the start would have been the fact that you didn't want them sorted by sources. I found it kind of annoying that I did my entire outline sorted by sources, and then found out in class that you wanted it by idea and then the sources to fit into those categories. It wasn't hard to rearrange my outline by idea, just one more step. I'm glad that you made us do the outline, email it to you and then had you email us it back because when it came time to writing the paper, it was all in the outline for me. Also, knowing that you and Michelle are there to help us every step of the way is very reassuring. I met with Michelle about my paper and feel pretty confident about it.

For my research project I think I want to do something about the Presidential Election of 1932 or something with the WPA. I know these are both extremely broad topics, but I'm still trying to figure out where I want to go with them.

  1. sorry you were so frustrated but which strategy for organizing the material (by source or by issue) is best to present a persuasive argument.
